What are the battery requirements for Turo?

Turo battery requirements require the 12V battery age to be five years or less (a requirement in effect since December 4, 2023).

To complete the inspection virtually, the battery date will need to be identified on the battery during the inspection if the vehicle is 2020 or older.

• Finding the date: locate the manufacturing details on the physical battery.
• If the date isn't accessible, or your vehicle is newer than 2020: a multimeter is required to pass the voltage check.
• If we are unable to verify the date as five years old or less, the inspection will fail unless you can return or come prepared with a multimeter reading.
• Third-party reports are not accepted (an AutoZone or O'Reilly's report won't work). Turo requires the battery to be tested during the inspection with your inspector watching.
