What time of day should I inspect, and what if it's dark?

The best time of day to inspect is during daylight. Good lighting matters so the inspector can clearly see all required points, so schedule during daylight whenever possible.

If it's dark, or you must inspect in a low-light spot, move to a well-lit area (such as a gas station) or have a flashlight ready.

Note: your phone's flashlight won't work while you're using the Zoom camera, so you'll need a separate flashlight (not your phone) to light the vehicle.
